Life has returned to its craziness since its lull during the pandemic. It can be fun, but it can also be overwhelming. To stave off the overpowering nature of rushing, stress, and anxiety that comes with a busy schedule, it’s important to take a moment to breathe and give yourself some love.
Start the day with these 3 simple ways to show yourself love and fill your cup so you can keep moving and shaking, and be one with yourself while doing it.
1. Tell yourself “I love you”
When you get up in the morning, look in the mirror in all your crazy-haired, morning breath glory and say “I love you, I love you, I love you.” These three simple words said three times is a celebration of you, a rekindling of the spirit, and a reminder that you need to give yourself love as much as you give it to others.
2. Your value is inside you, not outside
Your body does not define you, nor does what society or people think of your body. You are the only you and this is where your value and power lie. Embrace your uniqueness and the strength that lives inside you. As you get ready, wear what makes you feel strong, confident, and beautiful from the inside out.
3. Take a moment to breathe
Before you grab your keys and set out for the day, pause, close your eyes, take a deep breath. Say to yourself: Today, I choose [fill in the blank]. Some thoughts might be, Today, I choose to be kind to myself. Or, Today, I choose to give myself grace. Or even, Today, I will eat the cake. Whatever it is, set a self-love intention in that sacred second before flinging yourself out the door and into life.
Remember to wash, rinse and repeat each morning as you start your day to show yourself love and fill your cup. You are amazing and have infinite capabilities, potential and dreams – embrace your power and yourself as you set out each day!
