Granting Kindness

Have you ever looked in the mirror and said “I love you” to yourself?

I know, I know. It might sound horribly silly, or even vain, but while we tell many people in our lives that we love them, we don’t often tell ourselves “I love you”.

When I look at myself I am usually overly critical. New wrinkles, flabby skin…no greys yet, though! Phew. I could criticize for days, but what this negativity takes away from is the magnificent work the body does each second of each day (and night!).

What work does the body do? Well, in a nutshell, it keeps us alive. Not only that, it enables us to do the things we love, and chase the dreams we have fermenting deep inside.

What fabulous things our bodies are and what amazing appreciation they deserve! Granting ourselves kindness is a difficult thing to do, but how can we give kindness to others if we aren’t being kind to ourselves? Here’s a baby step to help the journey to granting kindness to yourself-

Today’s step: Look at yourself in the mirror and say “I love you” three times.

Really. It might sound a bit odd, or corny, but the results are like nothing you can believe. Try it once, then again, then again, until it becomes a habit. Granting yourself kindness in this simple action fills your cup with love, kindness, joy and positivity, making you ready to share all of these fabulous things with those around you.

Thank you for spreading love, kindness, joy and positivity with me to others…and yourself! 😉

Remember, never mind the sky, there is no limit to what you can achieve!
